Welcome to UnSpun - The Orca's current events podcast and YouTube show. Every week, Jody Vance and George Affleck unspin the latest news in local, provincial, federal politics, and much more.
It’s back to school and back to big COVID-19 numbers for BCers — are you worried yet; what will a $13 billion dollar provincial deficit mean if a provincial election is called and what’s on your wish list for the big-spending to come from every level of government; and finally, is moving an encampment from a park to a city-sanctioned site really going to solve the problem of crime, drugs. mental health and homelessness?
All this and more on UnSpun.

- Last week, George and Jody…took the week off. The week before, UnSpun talked getting ready for…well, today (school), teleprompters, and much more.
- The bigger risk would be taking a year off. Jody Vance understands frayed nerves for parents, teachers, and students – but in-class instruction is too vital to skip.
- Today’s #BCPOLI Hotstove also looked at back to school, and a really deep dive on the hows, whys, and pitfalls of a much-mooted early election.
