UnSpun 113 - Jody Vance and Dr. Marina Adshade

Welcome to UnSpun - The Orca's current events podcast and YouTube show. Jody Vance is joined by UBC Economics Professor Dr. Marina Adshade.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, women aged 25 to 54 lost more jobs than men and lost six times more work hours each week to family responsibilities. This will have a lasting effect on women and our economy and could set back women by half a decade.

The keep her on the map campaign aims to shed light on the disproportionate impacts the pandemic has had on women. But, more than that, it strives to rally support for female-led businesses and provide resources for all women who have felt the impact of COVID-19.
