#BCPOLI Hotstove: On dropping writs and fiscal fortunes

It's officially election season - and for once, BC might get some national attention. Might be a welcome distraction from worrisome fiscal trends, and yet more disastrous news in forestry.

Maclean and Jordan talk some federal politics on Day 1 of the 2019 campaign, giving some analysis and making some predictions. Plus the weakening BC economy has the NDP government putting out some disappointing budget numbers, and BC's forestry crisis hits the swing ridings in Surrey and Maple Ridge.

SWIM ON:

  • Last week's Hotstove also touched on Maple Ridge, as well as TransMountain, BCTF/NDP talks, and a record two Keith Baldrey shoutouts.
  • Maclean Kay on yesterday's bad news day for the NDP - slowing economic fortunes, and perhaps the worst hit yet on forestry.
  • Since he's in the headlines again, Jordan and Maclean also referenced Jordan's recent piece on Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum.
