Every two weeks, Orca readers are treated to the writings of renowned BC historian Dr. Daniel Marshall.
Earlier this year, Daniel won the prestigious Basil Stuart-Stubbs Prize for outstanding Scholarly Book on British Columbia for his book Claiming the land: British Columbia and the making of a new El Dorado.
One of his latest pieces for the Orca shares his own adventure, searching for the Garry Oak grove near Yale. Daniel joins us via Skype to talk about that journey.
He has conducted more than 50,000 interviews and asked more than half a million questions, of prime ministers, premiers, presidents and some of the world’s biggest sports and entertainment personalities.
