Nicknamed ‘Dr. Sport’ by his peers, Greg Douglas has been a fixture on the sports scene in British Columbia for the past five decades.
He joined The Vancouver Sun as a cub reporter in 1966, moved on to become the original public relations director of the NHL Vancouver Canucks in 1970-71, then established his own successful sports marketing & communications company in 1978.
Greg was a trailblazer in multi-media sports coverage. He simultaneously aired his comments and sportscasts on radio and television stations while maintaining his columns in various publications.
In 2010, he co-authored the popular book, Canucks at Forty. After returning to The Vancouver Sun in 1997, his Greg Douglas ‘Dr. Sport’ weekly column ran for 19 years.
An honoured member of the BC Sports Hall of Fame, Greg has received numerous awards during his sports media career. He lives in Vancouver and is an active member of the Vancouver Canucks Alumni Association.
